I use those soups that are microwave usable. You have to peel the "metal top" off and replace it with the plastic cover. It's usually so hot that it's impossible to pour into a bowl afterwards without burning your fingers.. I had to try to use pot holders, dish cloths or paper towels on either side to hold the containers. Then alot of the soup spills over everything around it. I would do this in the sink. This gripper is perfect!!! The gripper just tilts the container right into my soup bowl. For this purpose alone, I LOVE it!!!

Works quite well when the pan is not too heavy. The gripper material is silicone and has a few raised wavy lines to provide a little more friction than just the power of your hand. We use it for the 10" square pans that fit in our large convection toaster oven.

I've had my Kuhn Rikon Cool Gripper for a few weeks now and I've found it a big help when pulling some of my baking pans out of a hot oven. If the pan had no lip or handle, this little helper really is great. I only wish I had bought two...one for each hand. I recommend them for anyone who has an oven in their wall (like I do). I miss my old stove/oven. Things were easier to pull out than they are now. But this gripper really helps.
